Hello Ijorere readers! I know, I know…I don’t write often, but you KNOW when I do must be that I have something sweet to share! :~) Well what is it you ask? You will just have to come out and see!

The evening will feature a special viewing of designer gowns including Vera Wang from Belle Vie Bridal Couture, as well as the latest event and bridal trends. Guests will explore the gorgeous, lush grounds of Galleria Marchetti, Live entertainment, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a gift bag and a raffle entry are included with admission. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Chicago Gateway Green and Wish Upon a Wedding.

I’ll also be showcasing some Ijorere favorites from my Shoge Signature & Faari Couture line.

Burnetta & Rhet’s IJORERE Video Montage

How can I even begin to express how I feel about what I am about to present to my Ijorere readers this morning? Burnetta called me sometime early March and as she raved about IJORERE designs she express regrets for not discovering Ijorere any sooner. Burnetta is an African-American bride, her beau is Trinidadian. Her wedding was to take place May 8th 2010 ,  save the dates & invitations were already out by ‘others’.  She wanted me to rescue her with the remaining wedding accessories and I said YES!

Ijorere provided 200 place cards & 20 table cards, 15 different signage, 20 custom fabric pocket enclosed thank you cards, and 15 of our most luxurious signature wooden boxes! Each walnut engraved box was placed in satin string pouches and given to her ultra special family & friends!

The wedding took place at the well renowned & luxurious W HOTEL  in downtown, Chicago loop area. Her colors were all different shades of purple and lime green highlights.

I’ll have more to showcase and share with you about “The story of the lime” and Trinidadian culture when the professional shots become available. For now enjoy the video clip.

Toksy Likes! Beautiful Rings & Things!

I finally found beautiful rings that makes “The IJORERE cut list”.  So done with cliche cuts and rings, I’ve always figured if I were to ever do it again, I would definitely custom make my wedding ring and band.  But not till this very morning did I find something so beautiful to my eyes delight…I just had to share it with my Ijorere reader! Check out Anne Sportun’s Experimental Jewellery. 

What is so beautiful and amazing about her work are the organic circular forms of her designs… in a way vernacular, which of course remains me of African art work and architecture. Who would have thought experimenting as a little girl with jewelry would turn out to be a wedding business success!

What a pleasing way to start off my month of May! I received an email sometime ago in March from Rotola Ogunye, founder of Zuribelle, a fabulous bridal boutique on just about anything bridal for the everyday bride. She told me she was going to Nigeria to launch her very 1st bridal event and would love to showcase IJORERE Invitations. I delightfully accepted of course and quickly sent her samples.
